In this video, we speak with a hurricane survivor who also happens to be a dedicated prepper. He shares his harrowing experience of being trapped in his home for two days after a massive hurricane. With roads blocked and power lines down, he had to physically cut his way out of his property to reach help.
This experience reinforced the importance of testing your prepping gear regularly. As he explains, in a real emergency, you can’t afford to have equipment that fails when you need it most. One of the key pieces of gear that saved him during the crisis was his solar well pump from RPS. Even with widespread power outages, his solar-powered pump kept delivering water, proving its worth in a grid-down scenario.

Three days are usually the height of the chaos. I experienced that with no real solutions when I started disaster relief. Jared explains how it was the locals that rescued themselves and not the government. He also expresses how fortunate he is that the floods didn’t occur during the night. If it did then the death count would be much higher.
